Can you buy a cellphone on the TMobile site but use it for Verizon?

Can you buy a cellphone on the TMobile site but use it for Verizon?
I know most cases you cant, right? but I saw that I mean, they have say, Samsung phones and so does the Verizon site. And I must say.. Verizon doesnt have many choices. And I like one of the Motorola phones on the Tmobile site. so.. yes, no?

buy an unlocked phone, that way you can put any sim card in it.
